Tragedy On The Volcano: Tourist Dies After Days Trapped 1,600 Ft Underground

According to her family, a Brazilian national who spent four days stranded deep inside an active volcano passed away before being able to be rescued.

Because she allegedly asked the guide for a break, it is believed that Juliana was hiking with the guide at the time of the event.

The group apparently continued without her, though, and upon the guide’s return, they discovered Juliana had tumbled from the cliff.

It has already been verified that the hiker has sadly passed away.

Tereza Cristina, a member of the Brazilian Federal Senate, penned on Twitter,

“The entire Brazil cheered and prayed that the rescue would arrive in time to save the young woman from Niterói, Juliana Marins, alive. Unfortunately, they could not save her. Very sad.”

“Our condolences to her family and friends.”

“And may the Brazilian government, through Itamaraty, demand an investigation of the facts and the punishment of those responsible in Indonesia
