According to a post shared on social media by his wife, the incident was nearly fatal.

She described the terrifying moment when he “died in her arms” before

emergency responders were able to revive him. While medics successfully resuscitated him,

the event caused brain damage and memory loss, leaving his prognosis uncertain.

His wife called his survival nothing short of a “miracle” and cautioned that the upcoming

weeks would be extremely challenging for both him and his family. Dave Edmunds,

81, is best known for his 1970 hit “I Hear You Knocking” and has had a celebrated career

as a solo artist as well as a collaborator with groups like Rockpile and fellow musician Nick Lowe.

His influence on rock and roll spans decades, and his sudden health crisis has left fans and peers
