DESERT DISCOVERY: A GRAY Toyota Tacoma found abandoned in a remote canyon 30 miles from the Mexico border — inside, investigators uncover Nancy’s HEART MEDICATION blister pack and other disturbing items

Authorities in southern Arizona confirmed that deputies located an abandoned gray Toyota Tacoma in a remote canyon area approximately 30 miles north of the U.S.–Mexico border. The vehicle was discovered after aerial reconnaissance and ground search teams expanded their radius

following new movement data tied to the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Officials stated that the truck appeared intentionally concealed off a rugged dirt path rarely used by the public.

According to law enforcement sources, the vehicle identification number confirmed the truck’s registered owner, though authorities have not publicly disclosed whether it was directly registered to Nancy or someone connected to her.

The truck’s exterior showed no immediate signs of collision damage, but investigators noted disturbed gravel patterns suggesting recent maneuvering before it was left at the site.

Inside the cabin, forensic technicians reportedly located a blister pack of cardiovascular medication consistent with prescriptions Nancy was known to use. Authorities have not confirmed whether the medication packaging carried fingerprints or

DNA, but it has been sent for laboratory analysis. Investigators are examining lot numbers and pharmacy distribution codes to verify the origin and purchase history of the medication.

In addition to the prescription packaging, officials recovered several other items described only as “concerning” and “potentially relevant.” Law enforcement has declined to specify the nature of those materials, citing the integrity of the active investigation

. Evidence technicians processed the interior for latent prints, trace fibers, and biological residue before the vehicle was transported for deeper forensic inspection.

Search teams are now conducting terrain sweeps in the surrounding canyon area, using tracking units and aerial support to assess whether additional evidence may have been discarded nearby. Authorities emphasized that the discovery

of the truck represents a significant development but does not yet establish a confirmed sequence of events.

No arrests have been announced in connection with the vehicle recovery. Investigators continue to analyze forensic results while reconstructing possible travel routes leading to the remote canyon location.
