Place a Balloon Over Your Shower Drain and See the Surprising Result

Keeping cockroaches out of the bathroom can be challenging, especially when they enter through the shower drain. These pests are attracted to warm, damp environments, making bathroom pipes an ideal hiding place. Even with regular cleaning, cockroaches may still find their way inside,

which is why many homeowners look for simple and effective tricks to block their entry. One surprisingly useful method involves nothing more than a regular party balloon….CONTINUE READING IN BELOW

Cockroaches often travel through plumbing systems, taking advantage of any small openings.

Because shower drains stay moist, they become a frequent starting point.

The balloon trick works by reducing the size of the drain opening, making it much harder for insects to

crawl through. To try this method, first remove the shower drain cover.

Cut both ends off a standard balloon, creating a stretchy tube. Slide this tube around the drain cover so it forms a snug seal.

Once placed back on the drain, the balloon creates a narrower passage that still allows water to

flow but blocks most pests. While the balloon trick is helpful, it works best when combined with general

prevention steps. Keeping the bathroom dry, cleaning drain areas,

and wiping surfaces regularly all help reduce the moisture cockroaches seek.

It’s also important to inspect the bathroom for small cracks or gaps around pipes and seal them immediately to prevent

insects from entering from behind walls or under floors. Together, these simple measures make it easier to protect your bathroom and maintain a cleaner,

more comfortable environment. With regular upkeep and the balloon method in place, you can greatly reduce unwanted visitors and keep your shower area fresh and pest-free.
