People across the Bay Area were jolted today after a sudden explosion ripped through a building in Hayward. Aerial footage captured the
aftermath — twisted metal, collapsed walls, and debris scattered across an entire block. Witnesses say the blast shook homes, set off car
alarms, and sent a tower of black smoke rising above the city.
Authorities confirmed at least six people are injured, some critically, as investigators work to determine what triggered the violent
detonation. Fire crews rushed to stop secondary flare-ups as drones scanned the unstable structure from above.
Residents described the scene as “apocalyptic,” with neighbors screaming and running into the street seconds after the shockwave hit.
Officials warn the damage may be far greater than initially reported.
